LAHORE: The South Africa Women’s Cricket Team has arrived in Multan ahead of their three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Pakistan. The visiting team, led by captain Laura Wolvaardt, received a traditional welcome upon arrival at a local hotel in the city.
The South African squad reached Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, early this morning, having traveled from Johannesburg via Dubai. After a brief stop in Lahore, the team boarded a chartered flight to Multan. The South African players will rest today, while the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team will undergo a training session at the Inzamam-ul-Haq Cricket Academy at 3:30 PM.
The T20I series will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium, with matches scheduled for September 16, 18, and 20. The first two T20Is, on September 16 and 18, will start at 7:00 PM, while the final game on September 20 will commence at 10:00 AM. Following the series, both teams will prepare for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE. The South African team is set to fly from Lahore to Dubai on September 21, while the Pakistan squad will depart on September 23.
