Minor boy dies after mentally unwell woman pushes him into drain
A minor boy drowned on Wednesday after a mentally ill woman pushed him into a drain in the Old Golimar area.
The deceased boy was identified as eight-year-old Haider Ali. Police said some children were playing in front of their house when a mentally ill woman known to roam in the area pushed Ali into the drain after being teased by one of the children.
A spokesperson from Rescue 1122 said that upon receiving the information, a rescue team was sent to the scene with the necessary equipment and began searching for the boy.
The boy's mother pleaded with the rescue authorities to find her child at any cost. After 15 hours of search, the boy's body was recovered from the drain.
Police said they were searching for the woman.
In another incident, a young boy fell from a height in PECHS Block 6 and died. His body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
The deceased boy was identified as five-year-old Muhammad. The incident was reported to be an accidental fall from the roof of the house.
