11 cops suspended, transferred to ‘B Company’ for patronising crime

A total of 11 police officials and personnel, including five cops of the East Zone of Karachi police, have been suspended and transferred to the ‘B Company’ for allegedly patronising organised crimes.

The five police officials of the Zone East police transferred to the B Company include Inspector Shahrukh Shah, who was posted in District Malir, Inspector Muhammad Aamir Hameed, who was posted in District Malir, Inspector Ahsan Ahmed Channa, who was posted in District East, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Fakhar Alam, who was posted in District Korangi, and Sub-Inspector Fayyaz Ahmed, who was posted at the Zaman Town police station in District Korangi.

According to reports, Inspector Shah and Inspector Hameed were transferred to the B Company for running an organised crime network. Inspector Channa was also transferred to the B Company for allegedly running a criminal network in the name of the SSP East. Sub-Inspector Alam and Sub-Inspector Ahmed were sent to the B Company for allegedly supporting criminal elements.

Six more police officials and personnel from different ranges and zones, including one from the Criminal Investigation Agency, were also placed under suspension and sent to the B Company Police Headquarters, Garden South zone with immediate effect.

These officers and personnel included Sub-Inspector Faisal Zia Qureshi of District Ghotki Sukkur Range, ASI Safeer Ali of Criminal Investigation Agency, Karachi, Head Constable Aijaz Ali of the Security-II, Karachi, Head Constable Abdul Hafeez of District Sujawal Hyderabad Range, Head Constable Tasleem Nawaz of District Keamari, South Zone, and Constable Imran Ali of District Tando Allahyar Hyderabad Range.

According to a notification issued by Naeem Ahmed Shaikh, the DIG establishment, during the period of suspension, the 11 cops would draw pay and allowances as admissible under the rules.

The B Company was formed to confine black sheep in the police force to the headquarters so that they could not further tarnish the police’s image.
