KP CM tasked with holding Sept 8 rally: Marwat
Marwat says the message of the founder of PTI is that whatever the situation may be, the rally will be held on September 8
ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sher Afzal Marwat said that the party founder has given responsibility to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to hold September 8 public meeting in any case.
Talking to journalists outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, wherein he met the PTI founder chairman Imran Khan, Marwat said the message of the founder of PTI is that whatever the situation may be, the rally will be held on September 8.
He quoted Imran Khan as saying that they should not believe even if his message of postponement of the public meeting reaches them and that the real freedom war of Pakistan has to be fought collectively.
Marwat said that he will announce the responsibilities given to him by the founder of PTI in the meeting, regarding the September 8 event. “The message of the founder of PTI is that the nation should prepare for the September rally,” he said.
PTI legislator, who often remains in the news for his varied statements, said that Mohsin Naqvi has nothing to do with cricket and argued that by assigning responsibilities to make-believe and non-professional people, Pakistan is facing defeat after defeat, merit is being continuously undermined.
Separately, PTI’s Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that they are making one thing clear that they will oppose all sorts of extension. Talking to the media here, Gohar said that parliamentary party meetings are called before every session. In the parliamentary party meeting, various aspects of government legislation were reviewed.
He regretted that they are not allowed to speak on the floor of the National Assembly, whereas this time the government is doing the legislation secretly. In the whole world, the legislation is not done secretly like this.
Gohar remarked, “We are making one thing clear that we will oppose any kind of extension”. Earlier, he presided over the meeting of the PTI parliamentary party here at the Parliament House. Leader of Opposition Omar Ayub and parliamentary leader of PTI Zartaj Gul and other lawmakers attended the event.
The huddle took some decisions regarding the assembly session and discussed the overall political situation in the country. In the meeting, prayers were offered for the martyrdom of passengers and policemen in Musakhel and Kalat in Balochistan. Likewise, the attack on the police vans in Rahim Yar Khan was condemned and solidarity was expressed with the families of the policemen who were martyred in the attack.
It was learnt that some PTI leaders and MNAs expressed anger and concern over the sudden postponement of PTI’s rally at Tarnol on August 22. They complained that the workers, who had reached the venue or were on their way to it, felt agitated over this abrupt development. Some of the participants also expressed displeasure over the trend of resignations tendered in recent days in the rank and file of the party.
