PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial Information Secretary Amjad Afridi on Monday stated that former minister Shakil Ahmad had charge-sheeted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Speaking at a press conference, he said Shakil Ahamd’s revelations had exposed the PTI’s claims about fighting corruption. He asked the chief minister to disclose his share in “corruption”.

Afridi questioned whether Shakil Ahmad had resigned voluntarily or was forced to do so, adding the chief minister should have resigned instead. He further alleged that two more ministers would soon be removed on corruption charges, noting that they were also embroiled in a dispute over corruption money.

The PPP leader claimed that all decisions were being made in a bungalow on Shami Road. Afridi alleged that these ministers had a conflict with the chief minister over corruption funds. He also highlighted the deteriorating security situation in the province, mentioning that the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan had established checkpoints in various parts of the province.

Additionally, he pointed out that universities in KP were without vice-chancellors. He criticized PTI founding chairman Imran Khan, who had claimed that the Governor’s House would be converted into a university, while his party’s government was now planning to sell the land of the universities in Mardan. Afridi added that KP’s debt had increased under the PTI’s rule.
