LAHORE:Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar has police ensured comprehensive security arrangements across the province on Independence Day.
The IG said more than 30,000 police officers and personnel were deployed for security and traffic management across the province, including Lahore, on Independence Day. He extended congratulations to the entire nation and police force on the occasion of Independence Day. The IG said Punjab police reaffirm their commitment to protecting the lives, properties, and honour of citizens on Independence Day.
“Around 1,640 martyrs of Punjab police in the line of duty symbolise our eternal love for the homeland. For the security, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan, we will not hesitate to make any sacrifice in future also, the IG said.
Dr Usman Anwar said security was on high alert in all districts of the province, including Lahore, with foolproof arrangements in place for Independence Day celebrations and citizens. A total of 311 Elite Force teams, 163 Quick Response Force teams, 811 patrolling vehicles, and 1,460 motorcycle teams were assigned security duties, he said.
