Bail plea in acid attack case rejected

PESHAWAR: Additional District and Sessions Judge Bakht Alam on Monday rejected the bail plea of a man charged with throwing acid at a woman and her children.
According to the prosecution, the accused, Umar, had thrown acid at a woman (T) and her children, who were traveling in an auto-rickshaw, in the limits of the University Town Police Station. As a result, the woman and her children had sustained burn injuries.
The police had booked the accused under relevant sections of the law on the complaint of the woman. Later, the police arrested the accused and produced him before the court in Peshawar.
