Personnel of the Anti-Smuggling Organisation of the Pakistan Customs have seized a plastic cling film worth Rs48 million during a raid in Korangi.
Syed Irfan Ali, a spokesman for the Pakistan Customs, said that under the government of Pakistan's strict anti-smuggling policy, the Anti-Smuggling Squad of the Enforcement Collectorate continued its anti-smuggling operations across the city.
Acting on a tip-off received from Collector Customs Enforcement Karachi Basit Maqsood Abbasi, the Anti-Smuggling Squad raided a warehouse in Korangi Industrial Area under the supervision of Deputy Collector Customs Enforcement ASO Muhammad Raza Naqvi and seized 55,000 kilogrammes of smuggled plastic sling film.
The spokesperson added that the seized smuggled plastic film was worth Rs48 million and it had been transferred to a warehouse. Further investigations were under way.
