FIA discusses overbilling, human trafficking, money laundering, PASCO scandal
LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir chaired a meeting on electricity overbilling, human trafficking, anti-money laundering, and a PASCO corruption scandal, here on Friday.
The meeting held detailed discussion on four-point agenda including issues of overbilling, human trafficking, anti-money laundering, and the PASCO corruption scandal. A decision was made to tighten the noose around those involved in the PASCO scandal.
The DG FIA said overbilling would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict action would be taken against those responsible.He also emphasised that anti-money laundering cases should be resolved on merit as quickly as possible and instructed that all resources should be utilised to curb human trafficking. He praised the efforts of the FIA Lahore Zone in addressing the issue of overbilling.
The meeting was attended by Additional Director General (North) Muneer Masood Marth and Director Lahore Zone Sarfraz Khan Work. Directors from across Punjab participated in the meeting via video link.
