Warden held for torturing citizen
Rawalpindi : Police have arrested a traffic warden and other suspects involved in a shocking case of violence against a citizen in the Racecourse area here Saturday.
According to the police spokesman, the suspects have been identified as Traffic Warden Shoaib, along with Shafiq, Lal Khan, and Zeeshan Ali. Following the incident, the police have initiated departmental action against the traffic warden for his misconduct. City Police Officer Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, has taken serious notice of the incident and sought a report from SP (Potohar).
He has also ordered legal action against those responsible. The police chief emphasized that violence and mistreatment of citizens are unacceptable. He assured that the police are committed to maintaining merit, transparency, and accountability. He further stated that no one is above the law and that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in such wrongdoing, to uphold the department’s integrity.
