PCB to launch probe into player misconduct
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to form a committee to investigate allegations of misconduct involving members of the national cricket team.
According to sources, the committee will thoroughly examine three comprehensive reports prepared by the head coach, team manager, and an independent intelligence agency. These reports are expected to provide detailed accounts of the alleged misconduct.
To ensure impartiality, a former Pakistan cricket captain will be appointed to head the investigative committee. The committee will have the authority to summon players, coaching staff, and other relevant personnel for questioning. The scope of the investigation is yet to be publicly disclosed, but sources indicate that the allegations range from breaches of team discipline to more serious matters.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed concern over the recent incidents and emphasised the board’s commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding the integrity of Pakistan cricket. “We have zero tolerance for any behaviour that undermines the team’s unity and reputation,” he stated.
