Scattered rain forecast
LAHORE:Hot, humid and partly cloudy day was observed in the City here on Wednesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions with chances of scattered rain during the next 24 hours.
Met officials warned that heavy falls may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams of Awaran, Gwadar, Jiwani, Pasni, Kech, Turbat, Panjgur, Makran and Ormara. They said strong monsoon currents were likely to penetrate from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal in upper parts and central and southern parts from 2nd August.
They predicted that rain-wind/thundershower was expected in upper/central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, and northeast Balochistan, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, Pothohar region and Islamabad.
Rainfall was recorded at several cities across the country. Wednesday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi where mercury reached 45°C, while in Lahore, it was 37.7°C and minimum was 26.8°C.
