The entire nation, especially the poor, is being grilled through heavy taxes. The utility bills are the best examples of this practice as they are loaded with a huge number of different taxes over and above the actual consumption charges. Similarly, when the car token tax is paid, there are two additional taxes charged on top of it. The additional taxes over the tax being paid are simply not justified. When a transaction in foreign currency is conducted there are three additional fees/taxes that the customer has to pay. To make matters worse, the conversion rate applied to the foreign currency is abnormally higher than in the open market. The salaried classes are suffering due to this merciless taxation policy. Meanwhile, the elites enjoy the free amenities our taxes pay for. We need to seriously review our taxation policies and abolish the luxuries enjoyed by the elite classes.
