Stray bullet injures boy

LAHORE:A 15-year-old child sleeping at his rooftop was injured after being hit by a stray bullet in Gujjarpura.

SHO said that the victim Azan Ahmad was sleeping at his rooftop when he received bullet injuries in stomach and left arm. The bullets reportedly had been fired by the unidentified suspects involved in aerial firing. Police has registered a case against the unidentified suspects and were investigating the matter further.

Two robbers arrested after encounter

Two suspected robbers have been arrested after they were injured in a police encounter in Defence C. A police team signaled three suspects riding a motorbike to stop. But they did not stop and opened fire on the police party, who retaliated.

Two suspects identified as Shaheen and Muhammad Rafique were found lying injured. They did robbery in Defence C a few days back. One of the arrested accused was involved in over 21 incidents of snatching and dacoity. A case was registered against them.

Six die in road accidents

Around six people died, whereas 1,257 were injured in 1,170 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 527 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 724 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Kidnapper of playwright held

The kidnapper of playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar was arrested from Peshawar on Tuesday. Accused Hasan Shah honey-trapped Khalilur Rehman Qamar and demanded ransom. According to police, the accused and his accomplice Rafique were arrested from Peshawar.

The accused was running a gang of 12 members. The police have already arrested a female member of the gang. The accused tortured the playwright, snatched his mobile phone, watch and cash and also transferred Rs250,000 from his ATM card.

Underage thief handed over to CP&WB

An underage bike lifter has been handed over to Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CP&WB) by Kot Lakhpat Police. A police team had rounded up the suspect identified as Asad, 15, from Kacha Jail Road. He had stolen a two-wheeler from Quid-e-Millat Colony. Being an underage, police handed him over to Child Protection and Welfare Bureau after taking appropriate legal action.
