Meets thalassemia affected children of cops
LAHORE:Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar met with the Thalassemia and Hemophilia affected children of police employees at the Central Police Office.
IGP expressed compassion towards the affected children and inquired about the ongoing measures for their medical treatment and educational activities. He assured the parents of the affected children of full support for their medical treatment.
He said that the Punjab Police had spent over Rs172.5 million on the treatment of special children over the past year and a half, this includes more than Rs31.7 million released for the treatment of over 150 children affected by Thalassemia.
The parents of the affected children expressed their gratitude to the IG Punjab for providing medical cooperation and a monthly stipend of Rs15,000 for medical treatment. IGP said that the Punjab Police had inked MoUs with various welfare organizations and hospitals, including Sundas, Fatimid, and Al-Noor Foundations, for blood transfusions.
Meanwhile, IGP encouraged the PHP police team for their excellent performance. Dr Usman Anwar invited the PHP team deputed at Khanpur Post in Sheikhupura to the Central Police Office and commended them for bravely fighting the dangerous dacoits, awarded commendation certificates and cash rewards to ASI Zaheer Ahmed, Constable Sajid Ali, Zeeshan Ahmed, and Sarfraz. The team successfully apprehended and brought to justice the dangerous criminal Nadeem alias Demo, who was wanted in multiple henious crime cases.
