Two wounded in Moscow car bombing
MOSCOW: A Russian man suspected of carrying out a car bombing that wounded two people in Moscow on Wednesday has been arrested by Turkish police, Turkey’s Interior Minister said.
Evgeny Serebryakov was detained in the Turkish city of Bodrum, hours after officials said an unidentified explosive device tore apart a car in a residential courtyard in the north of Russian capital. “Two people were wounded. The victims were taken to a medical facility by ambulance,” Russian Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk said in a post on Telegram. The suspected bomber fled to Turkey after carrying out the crime and was detained by law enforcement shortly after arriving, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya posted on X. There were conflicting reports about who was injured in the car bombing.
The Mash Telegram channel, which has connections to Russian authorities, posted what it said was CCTV footage of a man placing a device under a silver SUV in the middle of the night. It also published footage that showed the same vehicle exploding seconds after a man got into the driver’s seat early on Wednesday.
