Changes made to Ayub Medical and Teaching Institution management
ABBOTTABAD: The Board of Governors (BoG) of Ayub Medical and Teaching Institution (AMTI) has changed the management by replacing four senior managers including the dean of Ayub Medical College and Hospital Director of Ayub Teaching Hospital.
According to separate notifications signed and issued by Dr Abid Jameel, the chairman of AMTI BoG, Dr Daud Iqbal, registrar of Cardiology, was appointed the hospital’s acting director, replacing Dr Athar Lodhi who was acting director of the Ayub Teaching Hospital.Dr Daud was appointed for three months or until a full-time director was named.
Prof Dr Muhammad Asif Kareem was relieved of his duties as acting dean and CEO of Ayub Medical College while Prof Dr Saqib Malik was appointed the new acting dean/CEO for three months or until a full-time dean was appointed.
Ehsan Khan was relieved of his duties as acting finance director of the MTI and Zeeshan Gul replaced him for three months.Rukhsana Waseem was named the new acting nursing director for three months or until a full-time nursing director was appointed.
She replaced Aksa Jalil who was relieved of her duties as acting nursing director of the ATH.The changes were made under MTI Reform Act 2015.The Medical Director Dr Alamzeb will continue to work till the end of his tenure.
It may be pointed out that Dr Athar Lodhi was working as hospital director despite that his tenure had ended on June 6, this year.The BoG in a meeting on December 16, 2023, had delayed the appointment of a permanent director due to the ban and had given an extension to the officiating hospital director for three months till on 6.6.2024.
