A man was killed and three others were injured in a shooting incident in Ali Mohammad Sheikh Goth in the SITE Superhighway Industrial Police jurisdiction on Monday.

The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Nasrullah, son of Ali Mohammad, who succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest. The injured include 26-year-old Omar, son of Yusuf, and 22-year-old Raju, also the son of Yusuf. The police arrived at the scene and took Nasrullah’s body along with the injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

According to SHO Noor Mohammad Sheikh, the shooting occurred during a dispute within the Odh community, where Nasrullah attempted to intervene. This intervention allegedly prompted the suspects to open fire, resulting in Nasrullah’s demise. The SHO mentioned conflicting reports suggesting the incident stemmed from a confrontation between children that escalated when adults intervened.

Following the incident, a significant number of community members from the Sheikh community gathered on the Superhighway to protest. They demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators, blocking traffic and placing Nasrullah’s body on the road. As a result, traffic heading towards Hyderabad and along the Superhighway was disrupted. In response to the protest, a heavy contingent of the District East police arrived at the scene. SHO Sheikh reported that five suspects, including Yunus Odh and his brothers, were apprehended in connection with the shooting. Additionally, two sons of the prime suspect, Aslam, were detained, while efforts were underway to locate Aslam himself.
