‘Participants in summer camp being groomed as per CM’s vision’
LAHORE: The participants of summer camp are being groomed as per vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. DG Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal while addressing a meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Friday stated this.
Director Admin M Kaleem, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum and Deputy Director Chand Parveen attended the key meeting in person while all the Divisional Sports Officers of the province participated in the meeting through a video link. All the divisional sports officers briefed the meeting about the Summer Sports Camp activities in their respective divisions. Pervez Iqbal directed the divisional sports officers to increase their efficiency in regard to Summer Sports Camp activities.
Addressing the meeting, Pervez Iqbal informed that a total of 1,710 male and female students of 5 to 16 years age are getting training in Summer Sports Camp in all divisions of the province. “As many as 838 children are being trained in 12 games in Lahore’s Summer Sports Camps at different venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex”.
He said that the performance and coaching methods of coaches relating to training of children in the Summer Sports Camps are being monitored minutely. “Sports Board Punjab will select the best performing and highly talented children of Summer Sports Camp and then they will be further nurtured in a training camp to be organised in Lahore”. He further said that the certificates will be given to the participating children at the end of the Summer Sports Camp.
