Solar frauds

Due to the rise in electricity prices, many middle-class families are switching to solar. However, I have heard of a number of fake companies operating in this field, at least in Karachi. These companies mostly operate virtually and don’t have any office physically and tend to demand high upfront payments with false promises of timely installation. One victim of such fake companies recently shared on social media that the MD of the company visited his home and shared the agreement. The company initially started the work but later the owner disappeared and did not answer calls.

If one is planning to install a solar system, I would recommend that they survey the market for rates, check the prices of inverters, check whether the companies they are dealing with are properly certified and do not give any advance payment. Prompt action against these fraudulent solar service providers would save many other citizens from financial harm.
