IGP lauds cops for doing Muharram security duties

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar Friday said despite heavy rain in various areas of the province, the cops diligently performed Muharram security duties.
He said all supervisory officers personally monitored the relief activities in the rain-hit areas. He said the officials of the Punjab Police were in constant contact with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), district administration, rescue organisations regarding rescue and relief activities. He directed the RPOs and the DPOs to review rescue and relief activities in the field themselves. The police accorded full support to Wasa and other institutions in draining out water from rain-hit roads including Lahore.
