Attack on newspaper employee condemned
MINGORA: The journalist community on Wednesday condemned an attack on the employees of a local newspaper in Swat district.
The journalists staged a rally outside the Mingora Press Club to protest the attack on Malik Ahmed Khan, the circulation manager of a local newspaper. The protesters, carrying placards, chanted slogans demanding severe punishment for the culprits.
During the protest, journalists expressed their frustration and concern, highlighting that this is not an isolated incident but part of a series of attacks on media professionals. They lamented the government’s failure to stop these assaults and provide adequate protection to journalists.
The protesters sent a clear message to the attackers, asserting that such cowardly tactics would not intimidate the press. Instead, they said these actions have only strengthened their resolve.The journalist community called on the authorities to take swift action against those responsible for the attack and to ensure the safety and security of all media workers.
