Aqeel, Yasir, Mudassir cruise into Tennis C’ship second round

KARACHI: Aqeel Khan, Yasir Khan and Mudassir Murtaza advanced to the second round of the men’s singles event of the Hascol National Ranking Tennis Championships 2016 at the S Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad on Monday.
Aqeel eliminated Shaheen Mehmood 6-2, 6-2. His younger brother Yasir brushed aside Yousaf Khan of Peshawar 6-0, 6-1. Mudassir Murtaza defeated qualifier Saqib Umer of KPK in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.
In Junior 18 and Under singles, country’s top player Muzammil Murtaza qualified for the second round. Hamza Bin Rehan, Barbhat Kumar, Aman Atiq, Samad Areejo, Aqib Umer, Nofil Kaleem, Bilal Khan and Kashif Khan also won their matches.
