Injured railway porter given Rs1 lakh

LAHORE: Senior railway officials, in a positive gesture, visited M Rafi, a shunting porter who had both legs amputated during a shunting operation.

Deputy Divisional Superintendent Operation Bushra Rehman and Divisional Transportation Officer Nasir Nazir made the visit on the instructions of CEO Pakistan Railways Aamir Ali Baloch and Divisional Superintendent Railway Lahore M Haneef Gul. During the visit, the railway officers presented Rs one lakh for his initial treatment and offered their prayers for his speedy recovery. The railway officials assured that further assistance and all possible support would be provided to railway personnel injured in the line of duty. “Every employee of the department plays a crucial role in keeping the railways operational and holds a fundamental position in the department,” they stated.

Additionally, it was announced that a job would be provided to a child of M Rafi in the railways, ensuring support for his family’s future. This compassionate move underscores the commitment of Pakistan Railways to the welfare of its employees.
