On June 17, the Hyderabad police carried out a raid to arrest Ghulam Shabbir Kunbhar, who had allegedly raped and killed a minor boy on June 15, near Goth Phulan Baladi within the Hosari police station’s limits.
According to a spokesperson for the Hyderabad SSP, when the police arrived to arrest the suspect in the rape and murder case of eight-year-old Sufyan, he resisted and opened fire on the police.
As the police returned fire, Kunbhar was killed on the spot. He reportedly worked as a cook at the DSP office.
The murder case of the eight-year-old child was registered under the sections 302, 377 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the child’s father Muhammad Amir Shah.
