The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) formed a four-member committee on Saturday to engage different political parties in the context of the recent political situation in the country.

During a meeting led by MQM-Pakistan Chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, party leaders expressed deep concern over the country’s political situation and engaged in a detailed discussion on the matter.

Siddiqui announced the formation of a four-member committee tasked with liaising with other political parties and arranging meetings. The committee comprises Syed Mustafa Kamal, Dr Farooq Sattar, Syed Amin ul Haque and Faisal Subzwari.

Additionally, under the leadership of Siddiqui, the MQM-P Central Committee convened to review the country’s political and economic situation, according to the party spokesperson.

The press statement from the MQM-P said that the committee had rejected the Sindh budget, labelling it as anti-urban Sindh.

The MQM spokesperson stated that the budget failed to include any major development projects for urban Sindh. The party criticised the Sindh budget for neglecting Karachi’s development, infrastructure, and citizens. The committee also expressed reservations about the federal budget. Concerns were raised regarding the tax burden on salaried individuals, according to the spokesperson.
