Customs seizes banned Boostin injections in warehouse raid
Personnel from the Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) seized banned Boostin injections worth millions of rupees on Thursday.
Syed Irfan Ali, a spokesman for the customs, stated that acting on a tip-off received by Collector Customs Enforcement Basit Maqsood Abbasi, the ASO of the Enforcement Collectorate raided a warehouse in Gadap Town under the supervision of Deputy Collector Customs Enforcement ASO Muhammad Raza Naqvi. They seized 4,700 smuggled, banned injections worth Rs16 million.
These injections, intended for use in cows and buffaloes, pose significant health risks. The milk obtained from animals injected with these substances could be very harmful to human health, causing dangerous and potentially fatal diseases.
A case was registered against two men under an FIR registered under the Customs Act, and the arrests were made. The accused was remanded by a court, and further investigation was underway.
The customs spokesman said the Pakistani government's strict anti-smuggling policy and customs enforcement in Karachi were ongoing efforts. The ASO's Anti-Smuggling Squad of the Enforcement Collectorate continued its operations across the city.
