Neelum Valley jeep accident death toll rises to 16
Officials said that 3 people were injured in the accident, local people and Pakistan Army teams recovered the bodies of 6 dead people
MUZAFFARABAD: The number of people killed in a jeep accident at Karimabad in Azad Kashmir’s Neelum Valley has risen 16. According to the State Disaster Management Authority, 10 more people died in the jeep accident, after which the death toll rose to 16.
Officials said that 3 people were injured in the accident, local people and Pakistan Army teams recovered the bodies of 6 dead people.
According to the officials, rescue operation is going on to search for 10 missing people after the accident.
Specialist divers and rescuers are participating in the operation, but due to the rapid flow of the river and cold water, the rescue teams are facing difficulties. It should be noted that on Sunday the tourist’s car plunged in the river at Karimabad while going from Keel to Taubat. Four people on the roof of the car jumped from the jeep before it fell in the river.
