PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) local leaders on Friday asked Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to tender an apology over his derogatory remarks against party leadership.
Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club Friday, President PPP, Peshawar City, Zulfiqar Afghani, said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s derogatory language against their party leadership was unacceptable. Khawaja Yawar Naseer, Mohammad Adnan Jalil, Abidullah Khan Yousafzai, Malik Zulfikar Awan, Tahir Abbas, Munir Camrade, Riaz Khan and Junaid Khan were also present on the occasion.
He said that their party MNA had bagged more votes from Peshawar than the PTI chairman. “PTI has trained and nurtured arsonists while the PPP introduced the real political workers,” he went on to add.
The PPP leaders warned of holding a protest camp outside the Chief Minister’s House if the PTI leadership didn’t stop their tirade against PPP leaders. They criticized the PTI-led provincial government for its poor governance for the last 12 years, which, they said, had pushed the province to backwardness and lawlessness.
They said that the PPP leadership had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the restoration and strengthening of democracy, supremacy of law and constitution.Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would visit the provincial metropolis and also address gatherings of the party workers, Zulfiqar Afghani said.He challenged the chief minister to close the Governor’s House to demonstrate his real power.
