FDE declares summer vacation from 10th
Islamabad:The Federal Directorate of Education has announced summer vacation for all educational institutions regulated in the Islamabad Capital Territory.
The vacation will begin on June 10 and will last until July 31. While the majority of students will enjoy holidays amid hot weather, those enrolled in undergraduate classes (BS/ADP programmes) are an exception as their classes will continue uninterrupted, aligning with the established semester calendar.
During the summer break, educational institutions will embark on various activities geared towards enhancing their infrastructure and operational efficiency. They include physical verification of stocks, repair and maintenance of furniture, buildings and playgrounds, and in-house continuing professional development sessions in the last week of July.
The CPD sessions are meant to empower teaching staff with updated skills and methodologies to enrich the teaching-learning process, according to the FDE. It said to facilitate these endeavours, heads of educational institutions were tasked with actively engaging teachers, leveraging their expertise to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
The regulator for Islamabad's government schools and colleges also said teachers would participate in training sessions whose schedule was to be communicated to them afterwards, allowing for adequate planning and participation.
