Rs100 bet claims life of 11-year-old schoolkid
An eleven-year-old primary school student died after drinking a bottle of vinegar for a bet of Rs100 in the Afghan Camp area within the limits of the Gulshan-e-Maymar police station.
His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The deceased was identified as Shah Muhammad, son of Sher Khan.
The police said the principal of the private school informed them that a snack vendor named Nizamuddin had put a bet, offering the boy Rs100 if he drank the vinegar. Driven by emotion, the boy drank a large amount of vinegar and then followed it with a cold drink. He won the Rs100 bet and left, but later his condition deteriorated.
Following the principal’s statement, the police took Nizamuddin into custody. The child’s body was sent for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
