Six police officials dismissed

Rawalpindi: City Police Officer (CPO), Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani dismissed six police officials including Station House Officer (SHO) Morgah from service here on Monday, because they benefited the accused by altering documents and destroying evidence in the investigation of a murder case.

The dismissed police officials include the former SHO inspector Syed Shahid Gilani, sub-inspector Waqas Ahmed, sub-inspector Farrukh Mehmood, head constable Murtaza Hasan, head constable Tasawar Hussain and head constable Haq Nawaz. When the allegations were proved true in the inquiry, a case was also registered against the officials in Morgah police station on the order of CPO.

The CPO said that the dismissed officials exceeded their authority, distorted the dignity of the department. Such officials are not subject to any concession, Rawalpindi Police is following the principles of self-accountability and transparency. The dismissed police officers used to work in a gang and had established their own torture cells.
