ISLAMABAD: Before Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China, the statistics of imports from China have come out. Imports from China are continuously increasing in the current government.

Imports from China increased on an annual and monthly basis in April and increased by 116% year-on-year while imports from China had increased by 18% during the first ten months of the current financial year from July to April.

Pakistan’s dependence on China is the highest in terms of imports. This fiscal year, Pakistan’s imports from China are the highest compared to any other country. According to sources, in April, imports from China amounted to $1.44 billion, whereas in April last year, the volume of imports from China was $667.6 million dollars. This means that in April this year, imports from China have increased by 116% on an annual basis while in March 2024, imports from China were over $1.3 billion.

Sources say that in the first 10 months of this financial year, imports from China increased by 18 percent, after which imports from China during July 2023 to April 2024 were over $11.63 billion. Imports from China in the same period last year were over $9.84 billion.
