Pakistan Advertising Association meeting held after a decade

Pakistan Advertising Association (PAA) held its first meeting after a decade long slumber, says a press release.
PAA Chairman Masood Hashmi; Senior vice chairman Jawad Hamayon; Vice chairman Waqar Haider, Executive Board Members, Sohail Kisat, Nadeem Akbar, Zeeshan, Owais Hameed Khan, Mobeen Malik, Ali Mandviwala were also present on the occasion.
Masood Hashmi in his welcome address thanked the media representatives for joining the session on short notice. During his address he enlightened the participants about the responsibilities of the Association. He said that during the 10 years’ dysfunction, several agencies faced problems with newspapers, as well as public sector clients. Due to the decentralization of several Ministries, certain advertising agencies faced problems in recovering their bills. He said that PAA has opened these cases and started working to resolve the issues and grievances in close cooperation of APNS and PBA.
PAA is the now the united forum and plate form for all Advertising Agencies and will take matter with Govt, APNS and PBA as and when required Masood Hashmi and Jawad Hamyoun emphasesed that all agencies, regardless of their compilation should work together for the betterment of this industry. It was also told that no agency can do Govt, business without PAA registration.
He expressed his confidences that in the upcoming mega event of Ad Asia 2019, PAA’s performance will be as memorable as it was in 1989, when Pakistan hosted an advertising conference. He said that it would be a great opportunity for us to change common perception regarding Pakistan and provide the participants some good memories and stories that could be cherished.
PAA Executive committee decided to choose the office bearers and Chairman of the conference. Masood Hashmi was selected as the chairman; while Sarmad Ali president APNS would be the chairman of the organising committee for this upcoming event. He said that the association will also make sure to provide the youth with training and skill development in advertising field. Experts from all over the world will come to Pakistan and participate in training workshops and sessions. He said that to begin a journey the hardest part is to take the first step. We have taken the first step. Association has been registered with 150 eager and enthusiastic members.
PAA was formed in 1973, today in 2016 after 43 years, the Association have come up with a new logo; that was revealed/launched during the event.
