Police have registered a case against five brothers and their uncle over the murder of a cable operator that took place in the Korangi area on Thursday.
An FIR No 243/24 was registered under the sections of murder and attempt to murder against Hassan and his four brothers as well as their uncle on the complaint of Umer Khan, the father of the deceased Faizan.
Police said that Hassan along with his four brothers and uncle Nadeem had been nominated in the case. During the incident, the licensed pistols of the deceased and his close relative were also snatched, claimed the complainant in the FIR.
"I was sitting outside my snooker shop with my friend Amir," the victim’s father stated in the FIR. "When we went to the other side of the road, we saw a scuffle outside my nephew Feroz's shop.”
Khan said that when he and Amir went there, they saw his son Faizan and his friend Danish standing on one side with the suspects Hassan, alias Babu, his four brothers Rehan, Faizan, Hannan and Mannan, and their uncle Nadeem, who had pistols.
The father said the suspects were abusing his son. "When I objected, the suspect, Faizan, hit me on the head with the butt of the pistol," the complainant stated, adding that when his son Faizan stepped forward to save him, Rehan and Hassan fired at him.
Faizan was injured and taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, reads the FIR. "The licensed pistol of my son fell there, which the accused picked up," Khan stated. He added that the suspects also tied Danish to a tree and beat him up when he asked them to return the victim’s pistol. The victim was a cable operator and the father of three children. The firing incident took place in Korangi Sector 33-C.
