The Karachi traffic police on Saturday announced that FIRs would be registered against traffic violators, particularly those involved in one-way violations.
Officials stated that under the directives of the Karachi Traffic DIG Ahmed Nawaz, challans were issued for traffic violations, particularly one-way violations, at various locations across the city. Drivers violating the traffic rules were also warned that not only would they receive challans for future violations, but FIRs would also be registered against them.
Drivers were urged to ensure compliance with traffic signals and stop lines, halt their vehicles at stop lanes before zebra crossings, refrain from going in the wrong direction on one-ways, and prioritise safety for themselves and others.
"Violation of traffic signals is not only unlawful but also poses a significant danger, potentially resulting in loss of life. Be a law-abiding citizen by adhering to traffic regulations," emphasised a traffic official.
