Misleading ads

Almost every day we witness a number of TV commercials and ads in print media of various banks offering free services including cheque books, ATM, online services etc. However, what they do not tell us is the truth that the account holders will not get any profits on their savings, which is the main purpose of investing their savings into banks.

So the SBP and the Banking Mohtasib Pakistan are requested to kindly look into the matter and, if needed, advise the banks to clearly mention in their ads that against such free services the, account holders will not be paid any profit and the status of their account will be that of a ‘current account’ that does not carry any profit.
