Minister acknowledges Pakistan women’s sports potential
LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that our women are second to none in sports talent. I am sure that several national and international star players will emerge from these athletes. He expressed these views while talking to the media on the second day of First Chief Minister Punjab Pink Games 2024 on Friday.
Khokhar and DG Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal watched the thrilling competitions of basketball, hockey and archery. Defence Attache South Korea Embassy Jinyeong Heo and DG Local Govt Tariq Mehmood, Director Admin M Kaleem and Syeda Nimra Fatima were also present at the archery event.
Speaking on this occasion, Khokhar said that the number of female players and prize money will be doubled in the next edition of Pink Games. “CM Punjab has announced the doubly of the prize money to Rs one crore in her speech yesterday”.
He said that the entire Punjab Sports Department is working hard to make this grand event successful. “Quality players are being groomed as per vision of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz. It is our prime duty to look after female athletes during the CM Punjab Pink Games”.
Punjab Pervez Iqbal on this occasion said that best arrangements have been made for women players during the CM Punjab Pink Games in which memorable competitions are taking place. Venues of five Pink Games have been updated for this grand event and all the participating female players and officials are happy with our facilities,” he added.
Replying to a question, Iqbal said that the participating athletes have been provided an ideal platform to demonstrate their talent. “Sports Board Punjab, under the leadership of Youth Affairs Minister, is making effective efforts to provide best facilities to all participating players and team officials.
