Sadia stars as Pakistan end losing streak against Windies
KARACHI: Pakistan-Women finally ended their six-match losing streak in which they lost three ODIs and the same number of T20Is as they finally overcame West Indies by eight wickets in the fourth T20I here at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday night.
The player of the match Sadia Iqbal’s early wickets put pressure on the West Indies as three wickets each from her and Nida Dar helped Pakistan restrict the visitors to just 84, which they chased down in 16.3 overs.
Sidra Amin (15) and Ayesha Zafar (42) put on a 26-run opening partnership. Connell removed Sidra while Muneeba Ali departed for eight. Ayesha looked in good nick as she stitched an unbeaten 46-run third-wicket partnership with Gull Feroza (21). Earlier, after opting to bat first, West Indies lost Qiana Joseph for a duck and Hayley Matthews for a solitary run to Sadia Iqbal.
