ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the Senate Senator Sherry Rehman questioned the double standards of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and said that on the one hand, PTI complains about the political role of the establishment, on the other hand, it is demanding dialogue from the establishment by rejecting the offer of dialogue by the Parliament and political parties.

In response to President Asif Ali Zardari’s invitation to all political parties for dialogue and reconciliation, Sherry Rehman noted with concern the stance of PTI, which has opted for talks solely with the establishment.

“President Asif Ali Zardari invited all political parties, including PTI, for dialogue and reconciliation for the sake of the country, however, the demands of PTI for talks only with the establishment are regrettable,” She expressed her views on recent political developments, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and parliamentary process in addressing national issues.

Sherry Rehman stressed the importance of adhering to democratic norms and institutions, urging political parties to engage in dialogue within the framework of the Parliament. She questioned PTI’s intentions, stating, “Does PTI want to repeat the past again? The time has come for PTI to look towards the Parliament.”
