Healthy mother vital for society: minister

LAHORE:Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that we have to adopt a healthy lifestyle to live a healthy life. A healthy mother can lay the foundation of a healthy society. He expressed these views while addressing the Pakistan Medical Association Medcon and Health Expo 2024 at a local hotel on Monday.

Chinese Consul General Lahore Zhao Shrin, President PMA Lahore Chapter Prof Dr Ashraf Nizami, VC Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, Principal LGH Dr Al-Fareed Zafar, Prof Khalid Mehmood, General Secretary Prof Shahid Malik, Dr Talat Pasha, Dr Izhar Ch, Prof Farooq Afzal, Prof Irfan, Dr Shahid Fazal and officials of the Chinese Medical Association participated in the event.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique in his address said that all stakeholders have to play an important role to ensure the health of mother and child. Now this is time to implement the road map to ensure the health of mother and child. Spreading awareness in this regard in the society has become very important.

He said it is for this reason that the PMLN has put a programme on mother and child health in its manifesto. We will launch this programme in the educational institutions of Punjab. Nawaz Sharif Cancer Care Hospital is being built in Lahore at a cost of 50 billion rupees, while Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology is being built in Sargodha at a cost of 9 billion rupees. The revamping project in government hospitals is being completed on fast track. Quackery must be eradicated from the roots in Punjab. China's Consul General Lahore Zhao Shiren said that China and Pakistan have very beautiful and long-standing relations.
