Arrangements finalised for LG by-elections

PESHAWAR: Arrangements have been made for the by-elections slated for April 28 on the vacant seats of chairmen of the tehsil councils in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The elections are going to take place in the tehsil councils, including Drosh in Chitral, Tangi in Charsadda, Daraban in Dera Ismail Khan, Katlang in Mardan, Dasu in Kohistan and Blambut in Lower Dir districts.The polling will start on Sunday at8am and will continue till 5pm without any break. The polling staff will be sent to the polling stations on Saturday.

Around 33 candidates are in the run in these tehsil council by-elections. A total of 783,772 voters will exercise their right to vote.As many as 568 polling stations have been established.Adequate security measures have been taken at the 233 polling stations that have been declared highly sensitive.
