MARDAN: Though the district administration has reduced the price of roti, the majority of the nanbais are violating the government orders.

The provincial government has fixed the price of 100 grams of roti at Rs15 and that of 200 grams at Rs30 to give relief to the people. However, the nanbais are least bothered to sell roti at the official rate. The district administration is checking the prices of roti in the urban localities, while hundreds of nanbais in densely populated areas are least bothered to follow the official price of roti. The nanbais said that though the provincial government had decreased the rate of flour, they were paying inflated gas and electricity bills.

The people in Mardan have started highlighting this issue on social media.Aqila Sumbal, President of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, shared a post in different WhatsApp groups. She stated that the roti was being sold at its old price on Shamsi Road and Chato Chowk.

The people said the government had been unable to implement its orders regarding the reduced price of roti. The people of Mardan asked the relevant officials to take strict action.
