One killed in fire exchange

JAMRUD: A joint operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the police in Jamrud led to an exchange of fire, leaving a policeman injured and a civilian dead.
Sources said that the operation took place in the Ghundi area of Jamrud following a tip-off received last midnight.During the operation, a shootout ensued, resulting in serious injuries to a policeman Saleh Muhammad and a civilian identified as Amin Shah.
Both were shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex for urgent medical attention. Amin Shah succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.The law-enforcement agencies cordoned off the entire area and initiated a search operation to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
