ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restored Bushra Bibi’s petition seeking her transfer from Bani Gala to Adiala Jail, which was previously rejected due to lack of follow-up.
The court has scheduled the petition for a hearing on April 22 and has also ordered a medical checkup for Bushra Bibi. Honourable Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the IHC issued this order after hearing Bushra Bibi’s petition on Thursday.
Counsel Usman Riaz Gull represented Bushra Bibi, while state counsel Abdul Rehman also appeared. During the hearing, state counsel Abdul Rehman did not oppose the restoration of Bushra Bibi’s petition. The court inquired about the requirements of a sub-jail and requested assistance on this matter at the next hearing. A medical checkup for Bushra Bibi was also ordered.
The court adjourned the hearing and directed the central petition for Bushra Bibi’s transfer from Bani Gala to Adiala Jail to be fixed on April 22. Bushra Bibi’s previous petition was dismissed due to lack of follow-up, but her counsels filed a miscellaneous petition for the restoration of the previous petition.
