Two suspected robbers, who killed two in Shahdara, shot dead in encounter

LAHORE: Two suspected robbers both real brothers, who had killed an 18-year-old girl, injured her father and murdered a 24-year-old man after conducting a robbery at a milk shop in Shahdara Town, have been killed in police encounter.

The victim Aniqa Maseeh was returning home after shopping for her marriage, scheduled after Eid with her father. The suspects allegedly were found involved in murder of over five people during robbery, including a head constable. Police had set up a picket at Jada Ghatti, where they signaled to stop two suspected motorcyclists. The suspects resorted to firing. Police also retaliated. In exchange of firing, the suspects received injuries and died. They were later identified as Abbas and Ali Haider. Investigations suggested that they were involved in murder of five persons, including a head constable. They had also shot at, injured another constable Mehmood Ali and snatched his official riffle. Three days back, the suspects had conducted a robbery bid at the milk shop of a shopkeeper Goga Butt. They while fleeing resorted to firing leaving two people, including Aniqa dead and her father injured. They had also snatched a motorcycle and injured two boys. The suspects of Topi Gang had snatched cash from a citizen near a bakery and also shot at and injured him.
