Police registered a case on Saturday against unknown suspects for attempting to murder a teenage boy at a government school in the Saudabad area of Malir.

The perpetrators involved in the incident remain at large. The incident occurred on April 3 at a government school, where 13-year-old Moiz was subjected to severe violence. The boy is receiving treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in an unconscious state.

The Saudabad police have filed a case of violence and attempted murder, based on a complaint from the victim’s father, Ghulam Haider.

On Wednesday, Moiz went to play cricket with his friends but did not return, as recounted by his father in the FIR. After a significant delay, a search for Moiz commenced. Four hours later, the boy was discovered unconscious in the school ground.

The father said that upon reaching the school, the police had already taken Moiz to the hospital. During the inquiry, it was learnt that the boy had been subjected to severe violence and an attempt was made to murder him by hanging him with a rope.

“I am a rickshaw driver, and we have no enmity with anyone,” said the father. Moiz is the youngest among six siblings.

“When I saw the condition of the child in the school, he was unconscious,” the watchman told the police. After attempts to revive the boy were made, the police were notified.

The police officials said that despite three days passing, the body had not regained consciousness. They added that upon his recovery, further details of the incident would come to light. The police have initiated a search for the perpetrators.
