PTI protesters demand Imran’s release
NOWSHERA: The workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday staged a protest demonstration at Shobra Chowk in the Nowshera cantonment, demanding the release of former prime minister Imran Khan.
The PTI workers also staged a sit-in and blocked the GT Road to traffic. Chanting slogans against the government, the protesters demanded that Imran Khan should be released and the cases against him quashed.
Referring to the recent letter of the six judges of the Islamabad High Court detailing meddling in the affairs of the judiciary, they said that the nation had given its verdict in favour of the PTI in the February 8 general election.
They said that the federal government was formed on the basis of the Form-47, adding that the PTI would snatch its rights.
They said that it was an injustice to delay the Senate election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and allot the reserved seats of the PTI to other political parties.
MNAs Shah Ahad, Zulfiqar Khan, MPAs Zar Alam Khan, Ashfaq Ahmad Khan and others addressed the gathering.
MINGORA: The members of the Insaf Lawyers Forum, Mingora, protested to demand the release of Imran Khan. Speaking on the occasion, Insaf Lawyers Forum’s Mingora chapter’s President Nasirullah advocate said that Imran Khan was being punished for his pro-people and pro-Pakistan policies.
