LAHORE : The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has revealed its comprehensive cleaning plan for Eid-ul-Fitr, spanning from April 9 to 12.
The special cleaning operation will be conducted in day and night shifts, with the participation of more than 10,000 workers and over 1,200 operational vehicles.
LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din stated that the special cleaning operation, initiated on Chand Raat would continue until the second day of Eid. The plan included special cleaning and washing of more than 1,500 mosques and Eidgahs, along with the cleaning of 250 small and large graveyards in the city. Additionally, 149 major commercial markets will be made zero waste on Chand Raat, and 831-km of roads will undergo mechanical sweeping. According to LWMC spokesperson Umar Chaudhary, water will be sprinkled around mosques, Eidgahs and paths leading to graveyards. Over 47 Iftar daster-khawans decorated for Ramazan are being cleaned. LWMC teams were deployed at Taraweeh places, Jamia Masjids, and possible routes in all towns. During Eid, solid waste complaints will be checked every 30 minutes, with complaints from commercial markets resolved within 10 minutes.
