LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has declared former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi eligible to contest by polls.
The appeal plea against allowing Pervaiz Elahi Moonis Elahi and others to contest by polls came up for hearing in the court Thursday.
A two members bench of LHC presided over by justice Shahid Bilal Hassan took up the plea for hearing.
The court while upholding tribunal decision declared Pervaiz Elahi eligible to contest by polls. Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan of the Lahore High Court announced reserved judgment after completion of arguments of the lawyers.
Chaudhry Muhammad Arshid from PP 32 had filed appeal against single bench decision taking the plea that Pervaiz Elahi and others were allowed to contest election against the facts.
